House Doctors Stands as a Top Franchise for Veterans

There are several veterans in the House Doctors franchise system, including Franko Antolovich (House Doctors of Hardin County), who retired as a Command Sergeant Major after serving 35 years in the U.S. Army, and Richard Marzan (House Doctors of McLean), who retired as Lieutenant Colonel after serving more than 27 years in the U.S. Army. Al Cazares – U.S. Air Force
Al Cazares understands process and the importance of following directions. After all, the veteran served in the U.S. Air Force for 20 years. After his service, he worked as a government contractor managing large teams of remote employees. That background of discipline and management skills comes in handy, as Al is now a co-owner of House Doctors in Colorado Springs. Al’s wife, Susan Crawford, is also a U.S. Air Force veteran.
Al came to House Doctors after being laid off in 2014. After most employers found him too “expensive,” he took a job as a security guard until a franchise coach introduced him to House Doctors. Up until then, Al and Sue had taken on home remodeling projects and understood the nuts and bolts of such work. Even though House Doctors franchisees don’t actually lift the hammer, a working knowledge of home repairs is an asset.
“Our choice in House Doctors was only solidified when we met everyone at corporate,” says Al. “My wife and I looked at each other and said, ‘This is home.’”
Kevin Logan – U.S. Navy
When the U.S. Navy relocated Kevin Logan and his wife Nichole from San Diego to D.C. in 2014, the pair was inspired by HGTV to pursue a fixer upper. However, the couple ran into a series of frustrating events with a contractor who promised the project would only take 6 months. By then, the project was only 60% complete, and Kevin was deployed to the Middle East. When he returned, it had been almost two years and nearly $200,000 since the renovations had begun – and they still weren’t done.
Upon searching for a new contractor, the Logans found that there was a lack of professionalism in the industry – and then they found a business opportunity of their own in House Doctors. “I had a business coach who helped me find House Doctors and I felt a level of trust and professionalism that you don’t normally see in the industry,” says Kevin.
Having served 25 years in the Navy, Kevin retired in July of 2018 and is now able to channel his appreciation for proven, trusted systems and professionalism into his House Doctors business in D.C.
